Re: Finance Comm meeting 6.28.11
[7.2.11 - 9:26PM: Letter from Brett Siegel: copied to Dale Welsh, Abe Peralta, Rosa Padilla, Adam Koontz, Donald Alire]

Dear Local 7076 Communications Workers of America,

I can see that your ability to control yourself and interface decently with others has already worn off. It was nice on 6/28 when you conducted yourself without nastiness for almost two hours. It is a shame that you cannot continue to act in a decent manner.

I am told that you have requested that Dale meet with you for eight hours on Tuesday. It is important to note that you have been doing a lot of complaining recently over the fact that we have overspent the amount allotted to Dale. Now you want to add another $440.00 to that already overspent amount, by tying Dale up for another eight hours to help you with your latest witch hunt operation.

You can spend all of the time that you wish to spend at the hall, but you cannot dictate that we pay for the resources that you desire to use during that time. Dale is directed by Michelle currently. Perhaps if we had a treasurer right now, that person would be directing Dale, but we have no treasurer. Although you have volunteered to serve in that position, you have not been appointed, nor is there any sort of implied appointment of you to fill that position. Currently you are only the acting chairman of the finance committee, which position does not authorize you to demand Dale's time for an unofficial investigation.

Considering how personal you have chosen to make your issues, it would also be prudent for you to be monitored during your time at the hall, to make sure that confidential records are not removed, and to make sure that no materials are inserted into files. Your lack of respect for confidentiality and protocol needs to be noted by the fact that you refuse to stop sending emails of a confidential nature through the state email system. Do you wish to give management an edge in the upcoming bargaining session? It appears that you desire to do this, as you refuse to stop sending these emails through the state email system, and refuse to allow us to use your private email address.

A great deal of time could be saved and we could deal much more efficiently regarding these matters, if you would share your SPECIFIC concerns with the committee and/or the eboard, instead of alluding to vague allegations without details.

I'm sorry that once again you have proven (in your tirade directed towards Dale) that you cannot be trusted to interface in a normal manner when you are not having all of your personal desires fulfilled.

In true unity,

Brett Siegel

Request for Michelle Lewis & Sue Wenzel to resign
[7.4.11 - 12:21PM: Letter from Mr. X copied to eBoard, Michelle Lewis, Miles Conway, Sue Wenzel]

THANK YOU Mr. Y for doing the right thing and stepping up with your work and email. I encourage you to continue your efforts. There is no reason that budget information should not be transparent and available to union members. It is obvious that there are many questions that remain to be answered by our union "Leadership", aka Michelle Lewis.

I encourage everyone that receives this email to contact the eboard to request that Michelle Lewis and Sue Wenzel resign! The questions will remain unanswered (truthfully) as long as we have these "leaders". This is one of the reasons that I resigned. There is no true leadership for the members. These "leaders" are in it for their own personal interests. And Jana Carr and Robin Gould support this. I know for a fact that a false travel voucher was created by Michelle for travel that never occurred. She created the false voucher while still employed by the state, just imagine what she is capable of doing when she does't have a job. Why is this? Our District and E-board "Leadership" do not hold Michelle accountable for her actions. Jana and Robin continue to look the other way because of their friendship with her.

Another interesting action that I witnessed was our "Leader" Michelle not allowing the VP(s) to participate in an E-board meeting. When we had an E-board meeting in Albuquerque, I was setting up the teleconference when Michelle instructed me not to hook it up. When I asked why she said it was because no one told her that they were going to call in. How likely was that? The truth was Michelle did not want Scott Goold to participate in the meeting.

With all this on the table, why would CWA even consider hiring Michelle as a full time president? As a union member, with the working people's best interest in mind, I'd like to know why Michelle is taken care of while the other 33 members will be laid off. What message is being sent to the members by this action?

Lastly, in order for CWA's members to have union representation, we still need a full time Staff. Without Scott Askey, the union work has dissolved at UNM. If it is possible to employ a full time president who does nothing for our members, why is it not possible to employ a Staff?

Mr. X
